Not bad... ![]()
Not the worst book in the world though it admits itself it is no replacement for the Prince2 manual. If you just want a idea about Prince2 this isn't so bad but if you want to pass the Prince2 exams stick to the official manual. Prince2 is now on edition 2009 also and this book is based on 2005 edition and there are just enough changes in Prince2 to mean this is out of date.

Very informative and easy to understand. Would recommend to anyone trying to get to understand PRINCE2 methodologies quickly.
Easy to read, hard to understand, impossible to apply ![]()
As several people have said, and as is customary for Dummies series books, this is easy to read and is well stocked with accessible hints and examples. I admit I understand more of Prince 2 now than before and have picked up some useful points of discipline.
However, this is a complicated subject and without a simultaneous training course, most people will get much less than they had expected from this book. The author sets out to destroy some common misperceptions of Prince 2, that it is bureaucratic, complex and only suitable for major projects in large public sector organisations. For me, he has only reinforced these as being true.
If your organisation has a project budget in 7 figures, Prince 2 would be useful, but this book won't go nearly far enough to help you safeguard that investment. And if your budgets are more modest, don't go anywhere near Prince 2.
A well-written book but the subject is totally wrong for the series.
Great simple and easy to read ![]()
Project managment is heavy going anyway so you will always need to concentrate a bit however a bit of humour comes in handy. You will gain a better understanding of the elements of project management however I will caution against using only this book for exams. The manual is the official reference book, the book will come in handy when trying to break down the jargon in the manual. Hope this helps.
