Couldn't put it down
Everyone will know James as the suave, quiet, intelligent investor from Dragon's Den. What you may not know is the story of how he went from a young boy to one of the UK's sharpest investors.
James' story is quite amazing. He was probably earning more in the early 80s than most are earning now and all from his own sheer bravado and a determination to succeed.
His self-belief is something I wish I had and something that all these entrepreneurs have (I've read a lot of their books). It's quite inspiring.
If you like Dragon's Den or just want to be inspired then you'll love this book.
informative and factual 
This starts off well giving you an insight to what motivated James into business then after he starts in recruitment it gets a bit bland going on about his time in recruitment without really telling you any more. Then it becomes interesting again with stories of his charitable work and move into venture capital.
It is curious that James doesn't seem to have really created anything other teams. He decides what he wants doing and assembles a team to do it then checks they are doing it.
Personally I found it a good read but if you want a more informative and interesting read that will inspire you to keep going when you're struggling the Duncan Bannatyne autobiography is much better.
Lessons 
Interesting book when past the early days...some interesting life thoughts as James Caan progresses...particulary the win -win and rewarding people before they ask /expect it...recommended.
Good stuff
As most of the reviews here are well written and confirm what a good book this is. I will merely endorse them.
