Customer Reviews:
Rather lame
Well, OK, I've passed my test a couple of weeks ago. I've had two books: this one and the compulsory Second Edition of whatever - you know, the official textbook.
This one... It says in the foreword: do not memorize the questions because they change all the time. Sic! In fact it is a lame excuse along the lines of 'we ain't got no idea what the questions are, but we'd like to cover our backsides'. This is utterly true: not a single question in my test was ANYTHING like the ones in the book. So basically what they've done, they've taken Chapters 2-6, picked the factual info and then asked questions about it. Do you really need somebody else to do it for you?
Second point is, the website is a joke. A rather sad one. The 'extra' test accessible for free on the site is just a dozen of random questions from the book. To get more tests you need to pay - not a fortune, but something comparable to the price of the book itself, and since I am too tight to be rid of my hard earned pennies in such a ridiculously unscrupulous way, I don't know if there are any original questions in the 'extra' tests, or is it all a repetition of the same stuff.
Third, there are factual errors in the book - me and my mrs. have spotted at least two (about licencing for young folk's labor and something about the EU's founding members), which is a bit of a mauvais tone for a test preparation manual.
So the book is pretty useless. On the positive side, it's cheap, but then again, caveat lector: factual errors can trip you up, so take it with a pinch of salt.
Official blue book is a must.

Fantastic book
Just reading this book and the life in the UK test, I passed my test in the fist attempt and I strongly believe that I had all the answers correct even though you are not given the scores at the end of the test.

Just what you need
I bought this book together with "Life In The UK. A Journey To Citizenship. 2nd Edition". It was really difficult to choose between all similar items - there are quite a lot of 'practice questions' for the Citizenship Test books. What made me choosing this one was its price, I guess. Very cheap so if this wasn't good enough I'd get another one.
But it is just what I needed! Very practical.
And it is hard to notice it was used - excellent condition!

highly recommended
I would definitely recommend this book, one reading of the book is enough but also would recommend to go online for practical test, go through everything in the online test and surely you will not repeat the test again.

two days preparation is enough. good luck and go for this book

Does what it's supposed to.....
This book helps you pass the ridiculous test now required for ILR and Citizenship.

Nothing more nothing less.

For British citizens born here, it will seem incredulous that your spouse can't remain living here if they don't pass the test. If your grandfather died fighting for the British shores, it's an even bigger insult. I am glad to have passed the test so I can now forget most of the politically correct propaganda it tries to ram down your throat.

Out of respect for my spouse's wish, I have destroyed the book as a protest to the Life in UK Test's very existence.

Incidently, I think I am more enthusiatic to live here than my spouse is and who now hates this country!!
