Made me think a bit!
A very readable book with short 'chapters' so that you can dip into and out of it again. I would recommend reading it through from start to finish first and then going back over the most relevant points to make notes for yourself. You only need to study the ideas most relevant to you then. One or two of the chapters certainly made me think a bit and gave me ideas for changing wording on adverts and on my website, so it's these that I made notes from. It's not all business related either. There's good advice for parents and teachers as well, anyone in fact.
My only negative thoughts on the book are that I felt the authors set themselves the target of 50 points and were determined to get there! I felt that the last few were getting a bit weak, or I was getting a bit used to it all. Somewhere between 40 and 45 would have been just right for me.

Fascinating but longwinded
This was a very interesting book filled with lots of case studies about the subtle effects of different persuasive techniques. Some were a little tedious and there are too many facts and figures that get in the way sometimes - I found myself skipping over paragraphs to get to the actual reasons behind the results of particular case studies.

Contains lots of useful tips that you can take away and try yourself - but only if you can remember to apply them! Though if you remember the 6 principles of persuasion it describes in one of the opening chapters, that would be a good start!

Gosh, I never realized that!
I really enjoyed this book and its thought-provoking examples. I can apply the examples to my own experiences of being persuaded and trying to persuade. Writing an email the other day, I suddenly realized that I had phrased my first line to remind the receiver of a favour done last year. Having realised that I had done this, I was interested in what would be in the reply. The reply contained an unsolicited offer to help in future work. I had never realized how subtle our efforts to persuade and reciprocate can be!

Pure genius
I have now read this 5 times and bought over 10 copies for friends and clients.
I lead the largest practice around customer experience design in the UK and have read and written too much. This is simpler, better and more digestible than anything yet.

Yes! This is really interesting.
This is one of those books you can pick up for 5 minutes, read a couple of pages and put down again, as each chapter is only 2 or 3 pages. It's all about the science of persuasion, rather than the art. The basic premise is that it presents various tips and tricks that have been 'scientifically proven' in controlled experiments. Some of the ideas and little snippets of advice are surprising, yet simple and it's a great read for anyone who may need to perfect their persuasion techniques.
