Excellent and unique book ![]()
An excellent book, admittedly for those familiar with the principles of spread betting. Different from so many other books, and an invaluable read, with much common sense and sober advice. Worth every penny.
Very good introduction ![]()
If you are looking for an introduction book like I was then this is ideal. It is very well written and easy to read, also acting as a good reference to go back to during your initial trading. Once you understand the basics you can then find a wealth of information on the internet on more specific questions which the book raises, such as chart indicators, statistical analysis and so on.
Great book! ![]()
Not really for people new to spread betting, but even so you can get so much information from this book. It looks a little daunting but it is a complicated topic and the author obviously loves what he does and he has the pedigree. He doesn't beat around the bush and the advice is gold, this book WILL save you money, heartache and worry IF you follow his advice! If you are a beginner then my advice would be to open a practice account WHILE you read this book. If you are already trading then close your positions, read this book and rewrite your strategies and start again.

I give credit - and an extra star - to the author for warning his readers that without an "edge", they cannot expect to make money. However, as a source of such an edge, the author sells the so-called "technical analysis". The book could still be useful if it provided enough helpful detail about spread-betting "logistics", and it goes some way towards it, but not far enough for me.
