BRILLIANT ![]()
Wow, I love these books and can't wait to read the next installment. Just couldn't put it down. On another subject, delivery was quick and description as it said. Overall very happy.
Brilliant Book! ![]()
This is a brilliant book - anyone who liked the first two needs to read this.
Interesting plot structure, but too much melodrama? ![]()
Maybe I'm all Twilighted out, but this book was a bit disappointing after the first two, when it should have felt a bit more like a resolution. I think there was just a bit too much padding around the central interesting concept of the confrontation between werewolves and vampires, and Jacob and Edward. I really love the carefully built structures of powers and abilities and how they play together to make interesting alliances and dynamics. Introducing more characters, or more detail to background characters is also very satisfying.
However I got a bit tired of the teenage melodrama. I'm not sure whether these elements were extended in this book, or just an overload of reading the series too fast, but I really did get a bit bored of the "will they won't they" plan for the future. The love triangle was handled reasonably well, usually focusing on the humour of the two boys competing, but it did occasionally (particularly at the end) plummet into painful teenage angst.
I'm worried about the trend of these books to get longer and worry that they'll become self-indulgently fluffy. I still enjoyed reading this book and finished it off in just a couple of days - there's plenty of excitement and laughs, but I'm worried that the series may sputter out. I find myself increasingly nervous about how the long term question of how Edward and Bella can be together will be resolved, it can't be dragged out much longer, but can the series continue after the answer?
Twilight Saga ![]()
I bought the Twilight books after seeing the film, which I enjoyed, and I know as a general rule films made from books while good, the books are generally better, with more detail. So I ordred all 4 books from Amazon on a Thursday night and recieved them on Friday, and was so lost in the stories, I read all weekend till I'd read the first 3 by monday and had to postpone reading the last one till Monday night after work.
I will admit that in some places Stephenie took her time getting to the point, but that didn't in any way spoil my reading expirience, I am now a Twilight Groupie, and have in fact read all 4 books 4 times each now lol. The stories are captivating, and have you thoroughly invested in each character, and by the end of reading you want the happily ever after for them all.
