Excellent Product
I have used previous models of Laurastar steam iron systems and have just upgraded to their top model the IS5 system. The new agent agreed to refurbish my Magic system free of charge (Gold Service) and return this to me with a free 12 months warranty all carriage paid. I can now pass this on to a family member as it is still a fine iron.
The new system is a dream to use. No more waiting for the steam pressure to build up. The water reservoir (using tap water)is large. No more waiting for the pressure to reduce before unscrewing the cap, re-filling with water and then waiting 10 minutes for the iron to heat up again. Now all you do is remove the reservoir, take to tap; re-fill and place back on the iron to resume ironing.
The auto-steam feature is wonderful and saves time and energy.
Ironing is now a fast exercise. The blower/sucker fan is brilliant. It is especially quick to use the blower when using steam to iron delicate fabrics eg. silk or man made fibres. This rapidly removes all creases.
The only niggle I have is that when using the iron it has a tendency to mark the aluminium support on which the iron stands. Laurastar informs me this is inevitable. Personally I think it is a design fault as the abrasions to the metal quickly becomes unsightful. I now use the silicon mat to lift the iron above the support edges to avoid the iron coming into contact with this metal support.
The water filter is superb. We live in a very hard water area. With our old system we needed to de-scale the iron regularly (after every 3 uses). Now we rely predominantly on the filter salts to avoid limescale etc. within the iron system.
An excellent product and thus far we have found the U.K. Agent to be efficient and helpful.

Excellent product and service
I have been a laurastar customer for too many years to remember. I bought this model after seeing it demonstrated at Harrods in London. I must say this is the best purchase I made for a very long time. Needless to say that ironing is not my best pass time hobby, and I would rather have it done as quickly as possible. I had a call after few months from the service agent to see how I was getting along with the iron, which I found very helpfull as I had a couple of questions to ask, and my housekeeper unfortunately didn't rinse the boiler for many months after using it. The service agent offered to rinse it for us at no charge. I rate the product and service as excellent and would not hesitate to recommend this product to everyone
