Customer Reviews:Very impressed
This is my first Sat Nav, and I bought this model mainly because of the reviews I read here. I was not disappointed. It is very easy to set up, and after acquiring the satellite signal the first time, it only takes seconds each time I turn it on now.
I like the way I can send destinations directly to it from Google Maps, and also how quickly it recalculates routes when I take a different turn to the one given.
The lack of a data cable was no problem, because my digital camera one fits it, and because it charges when connected to the PC, I don't need a mains charger.
My only gripes (and they are nothing to do with the unit itself) are that the map update download is a bit hefty at 3gig, and the Garmin website is confusing and difficult to navigate.
All in all, I would recommend it highly to a first-time user like myself, and consider it a bargain at the price.

My first satnav. Great product does exactly what is said on the tin. But I'm still trying to download the free map update because of lack of space in the Garmin decice. I'm still waiting for assistance from the Garmin helpline.
Great Sav Nav - easy to use with excellent display
I'm a retired female and bought the Garmin Nuvi 200W (my first Sat Nav)just 4 weeks ago and now cannot imagine being without it. My first reaction was that I was going to need someone to help me with the 'set-up', but a quick read through the manual was all I needed. It was so easy - I just plugged it into the cigarette lighter and I was using it within a few minutes. It has an excellent display and the voice prompts come in plenty of time and also names of upcoming roads/streets are displayed clearly cross the top of the screen. It recently took me on a 45 mile journey through Manchester without a hitch (a journey I wouldn't have attempted without a Sat Nav). Speed cameras are well prompted in advance. Would highly recommend to anyone who's never used a Sat Nav before because it's so easy and car travel to unknown destinations becomes stressfree! A family member was so impressed, she's now bought one too!

Well, LOST! I think the people who put road signs up must be in league with satnav makers. Far too many signs. Far too complicated. Frankly the only way to get aroud these days is satnav and his Garmin is GREAT! Nice wide display with clear directions. Very good in "difficult" light conditions including bright sun, reflections, dark, etc. Simple input, post code, even longtitude and latitude.
I've only gone wrong once since I bought this and that was a really stupid road system in an unnamed City in the North-West and that was quickly corrected even though the one-way system seemed to have been designed specifically to stop someone correcting the mistake I had made.
Great unit, far better than other makes I've tried - even those that cost a lot more!

I have been using this for a couple of weeks now and have found it an excellent piece of kit. So far I have not used it on any long journeys, but have used it around the local countryside and town. The instructions are clear, and the widescreen just makes it that little better to see whilst driving. It has got me to my destination every time with out any problem and even when I decided to ignore it and go my own way it very quickly corrected and showed another route. One problem with the finding petrol station facility was that it listed a local garage as selling petrol. He has not sold petrol for about 10 years!!
