    Customer Reviews:
    Speakinh naturally
I was asked by Amazon to wrte this review so i thought tht ebest way to illuistgyrsate the strnths and wekness of the product would be tp type one paragraph using the key board (this one) and then dictate a paragrph using Dragon Naturally speaking.

Okay, this is a paragraph that I dictated. You can see that it is quite capable of turning speech into type. You have to remember to tell it when you want to insert punctuation such as a.at present I am a new user so I make quite a few mistakes and have quite a bit of learning to do, such as what to do if I want to spell out the word "," instead of the punctuation. If I start to talk a little bit quickly or not quite so clearly things may get less accurate. So I am going to try a sentence speaking quickly. Here goes: the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. Amazing, that was hundred percent accurate.

Well actually that experiment has encouraged me to use this piece of software and more often. As you can see how it is more accurate than my typing, even when it quite quickly like this.

Well backto ordniary tyyping. Overall the above prargraphs m were more accurate than previous use of the software has indicated (and cerrtainl;y more accurate than my unedited typng). If you do a lot of typing and are as inaccurate as me, and can work in a relatively quiet envorinment, it is defintiely worht trying.

    Speaking to my Computer

Ordered the DVD, received it within 3 days, as i live in north ireland that is quite acceptable.

Using Dragon is quite unreal, to see what you have just spoken appear on the
    screen is unbeliveable.

    Would recommend Dragon to anyone.

Possibly the market leader, but a sale tipped by a 1/2 price offer
My own health is deteriorating and in preparation for the time when I have trouble typing I thought I would get Dragon set up on my PC's (the licence allows you to have it in several PC's so long as you are the only person using it that copy). Several of my friends who also have MS use Dragon and spoke highly of it.

I am still training it to recognise my slurred speach, and the exercises I have used it for so far have worked, although it does feel weird sitting in front of a PC talking to yourself!

I do play the World of Warcraft game (a lot) and am hoping it will help me with that, several reports I have read have said it works with the game ...

Although this report will not enlighten anyone greatly about the product, I have not anything bad to say about it.

There are competative products also available, such as the free speech recognition program within Vista, which I have tried, but the free program did not feel as comprehensive as Dragon. My decision to actually buy a speach recognition program, rather than using a free program was really decided by the number of 'live' recomendations I got from the prople I knew (and the fact that Amazon had a 1/2 price promotion), most of who were using it in a chat area, their responses, replies etc could hardy be distinquished from people actually typing, although this report was typed by swooping eagles. When Dragon did make mistakes in interpreting speech, the results were so funny that they actually prompted new lines of chat!

I have only used Dragon on the new Windows 7 (64 bit professional), although I know other people use it fine on Vista and XP.

    Dragon but not Welsh-Dragon 10
Marvellous product and I now use it every day for speech to words on word processor.

    Voice recognition
We had an earlier version of this at work about 5/6 years ago and most people couldn't get on with it. I was OK with it though

However Dragon 10 really does work straight out of the box and was up and running within hours. I'm sure I could make it even better with a bit of training/fine tuning but it's good enough for me and better than expected

It was on special offer when I ordered it , so I'm well pleased
