good for older folk
not a phone for me but my elderly mother. Bought for the digital loop system capability though still not able to get a consistent feedback from her on whether this feature works well. Buttons large, display large, phone not over bulky though not the slimmest of the bunch, if your looking for something to fit in a pocket round the house its probably marginally too big. The phone book facility has very few alpha characters capacity per name entry(think its about 7 or 8) so you'll need some kind of shorthand to get round the need to put home, mobile and work numbers in for your nearest and dearest. Ringer is nice and loud, speaker volume control is good, clarity is far better than her previous phone (I'm not shouting now). The scroll feature on the side of the phone is proving hard work to get used to (might have been better putting it on the front (though you'd be short of room then...). Phone book transfer between phones is easy. A good phone, being a fair compromise of all the necessary features.
Big buttons at last!
This product is excellent; it's the only decent-looking big button telephone I could find on the market. The buttons aren't quite as big as the enormous ones on corded phones for the vision impaired, but they are big enough. Have had no problems with setting up the phone or with running out of charge. I'd recommend this for anyone who has a blind or vision-impaired person in the house, but doesn't want the hassle of being tied to the phone.
Just the Job
I purchased this product for an elderly lady with bad hands. The handset was a little larger than some but just right for the lady involved and the larger buttons made it easy for her to read and use.
Would recommend this phone to anybody.
Great looking, great sounding, great value!
Our old fashioned wired telephone finally gave up the ghost a week ago and, after much deliberation, we decided to get the BT Freestyle 750 Twin pack which is essentially the same as these 710's but with an answer phone built in. This review covers what we thought of the telephone aspect of the pack. We were initially dubious of the reliability of a wireless phone, and whether the extra features were worth the money. How wrong could we be! These phones are great, the have clear audio, easy to use features and are light to hold. They can be used as intercoms (or Walkie Talkies) so no more shouting up and down the stairs in this household! The buttons as large and good for either people with visual impairments or big clumsy fingers like me! Oh and the hard of hearing aren't forgotten as they have built in hearing aid support. The volume of the ringer (which can have it's tune changed) and of the call audio can turned up very load, which is great when using the hands-free feature. If you have Caller ID activated on your BT phone line (a free service), and have set up the Phonebook built into these phones, you will see the name of who is calling on the handset. Other features include custom Ringtones in the Phonebook, a feature to help find a lost handset, rechargeable AAA batteries (which can be recharged in a battery charger as well) and 3 way conference feature. They also look stylish and fit in with just about any room décor.
So all in all we are very happy to have got these and would recommend them to anyone!
TIP:
When you first get the phones they must be charged for 20 hours before first use, instead pop the AAA batteries in a fast charge battery charger and they'll be ready in less than an hour).

Simple, easy to install and use. Good battery it seems. Big buttons clear screen. Does the job.
