i love this samsung dvd player, really easy to use and of good value and i was very surprised how quickly it was delivered.
Fine for the price 
Bought this to go with my Samsung LE40B650 LCD, supposedly they should communicate with each other to automatically optimise and upscale the picture resolution using a Samsung feature called 'BD Wise'. When playing a DVD a 'BD Wise' icon appears for a few seconds and the resolution vertical appears to be set to 576, not 1080. As such there is no evidence of any upscaling and the picture is no better compared to my old DVD player through a scart. So disappointed here.
There is another Samsung feature called 'Anynet' which allows the TV remote to control the DVD player. Also if you swithch the TV off it automatically switches the DVD player off as well. This feature works fine.
Everything else appears to work fine and contrary to other reviews it DOES play DVD-R discs.
Would be 5 stars just for style and value for money, but the lack of apparent upscaling loses a star

Has played everything I've tried (including mastered data dvd discs which my last DivX player couldn't cope with) on Samsung 720 and 1080p TVs with good upscaled picture and sound. Easy to set up and make multi region (instructions on Google). Very happy with it.
