Kaspersky Internet Security 3 User, 1 Year License, 2010 (PC CD)

As you would expect from Kaspersky, it does the job...
...but won't necessarily play nice with other anti-virus software.


I had problems due to having previously installed AVG, which required some complex work-arounds. I am not aware of this software conflicting with other software, but I would advise you google to see. Of course, on a new system of fresh install.update their should be no problems.

It contains all the usual good stuff, plus two excellent additions that I found very useful; Gaming Mode and Virtual Keyboard.

The Gaming Mode suspends scans during gaming, stopping system problems.

The virtual keyboard defeats keyloggers.

All in all, a great product.

Does NOT work with windows 7.
Like many followers of Kaspersky internet security, I have enjoyed it's complete reliability- until now.
I tried to install the 2010 version with the new Windows 7 on my PC. First I tried the 64 bit version of windows 7, only to find out in the small print on the box, and website, that 'Some elements are incompatible with this operating system'. and yes, it failed to work.
Then I decided that rather than waste a 'good' copy of Kaspersky, I would install the 32 bit version of Windows 7 on my PC. Unfortunately this, too, was a disaster and Kaspersky kept crashing and sending error reports to it's 'head office'. Errors mentioned by many on the internet, in various blogs, involve a message saying a "key logger" has been detected, but it does not tell you how to get rid of the thing!
Then it came up with a message about a 'trojan downloader', but yet again failed to tell me how to get rid of it.
The final straw came when it popped up and said "Your computer is infected with a virus...." Yet, again, it did not say what the virus was, or how to get rid of it. I have now got rid of Kaspersky and will try something different. Kaspersky Internet Security 3 User, 1 Year License, 2010 (PC CD)

Russian security - say no more!
I researched what was available before I bought this product and Kaspersky 2010 came highly recommended. I haven't been disappointed. It is easy to instal and use but is extremely thorough and effective. Sometimes it is a little too eager - like when it questioned whether my netbook's manual was safe to use but better safe than sorry. Overall, excellent value for money.

A professional piece of kit
Have just installed the 2010 version after using 2009 suite successfully for the past year. Good to see Kaspersky emphasising the need to clean the PC of all past AV and security programs and turn off the Windows Firewall before you start - a useful tip. The installation went smoothly - I was quite impressed when it said it detected a slightly more up to date version of the 2010 program on the Kaspersky servers and offered to download that version instead. Set-up is quicker and easier than it was last year - NB I bought a brand new licence not a renewal. The look and feel of the package is different from 2009 but everything seems logically laid out. I like the inclusion of the Virtual Keyboard as an extra on-line security feature. Recommended.
