Was a little worried that the 8GB would be too small, but the memory is more than enough for a huge amount of music and films. Not sure why anyone would ever need the larger memory. Fabulous product.
Great for apps and games, no need for an iPhone! 
Got myself the 8gb iPod Touch a few weeks ago and I'm very pleased so far. For years I've been resisting the whole 'apple' thing, but decided to give it a go as the app store is just too tempting! It's very user friendly, within minutes I was gliding through the app store downloading games, translation apps, all sorts. I can't fit all my music on this model, but let's be honest who needs all that music you bought ten years ago and don't listen to anymore.
If you're into gaming this is well worth it. As a lot of people know there are thousands of games and apps out there now. And for developers there's been a real race to the bottom price-wise, so as a consumer this is great - everything is so cheap! I've actually stopped playing all the big console games since getting this, I can get 20 apps for the price of a console game. Just this week I've been playing a dogfighting shoot-em-up called Mini Squadron that is more fun and addictive than most big games out there.
I'm dropping one star because iTunes is a bit annoying, especially if you have more than one PC you want to sync with, I wish this was more like a USB drive you can drop any old files on to.
But overall a great device. Worth it for great games like Mini Squadron, Soosiz and so much more.
I bought the Touch
I have been looking at variuos mobile devices and had a trial with a Nokia device, been thinking about the iphone for a while, the Nokia was not the best experience. I had a copy of the Mac magazine which explained that if you want a phone get a phone and the touch for the other functions. I did that and must say the experience has been positive, the Aps are great and very useful and still exploring the whole thing. A great bit of kit, I have the 8GB version its OK. The wireless is good and integration with outlook was so easy. :-)

This has got to be one of the best portable music centres around. Well worth buying!!!.
So Easy to use!
Without even reading the instructions, you can start using the Ipod. It is so easy to use. Even my 6 year old is using it, in fact she spends a lot of time playing games on it. 8GB capacity is fine, but I don't use all the applications so perhaps if you intend to use it for work etc. you might be better off getting the the higher GB ones.
