Looks and acts better than vista. ![]()
Installed very easy on vista computers. Is moving well, no compatibility problems with older app.
Very easy to install ![]()
This is a good way to upgrade three PCs. Windows 7 is a great improvement over VISTA. I had some installation issues with dual-boot. But these were quickly sorted by Microsoft Technical Support. Although the pack contains both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the software, each licence covers only one version. Overall I am delighted.

Windows 7:
Be aware before you buy that this SW does NOT have an EMAIL CLIENT !!! You have to download one yourself from the internet - MS offers his free windows live email client - which replaces windows mail - again a new email client (they never can keep something).
I find this disturbing and although the new client is quite good - and seems to transfer all the old folders and files from your previous client over - it does NOT - some folders were missing and I had to add them manually... so unless you are a very techy person - don't even think of trying.
The new OS is fast (much faster in booting and operation than Vista i.e. and also faster than XP) - but it is very sensitive - i had some serious issues with a desktop PC and took me two days to get it working fine.
A notebook where i upgraded from Vista to W7 it worked absolutely fine - no problem (except the email client).
W7 has some pretty unacceptable bugs - i.e. you install windows live email client and W7 will keep telling you every 2nd boot that no email client is installed - MS does not find its own SW...
O.K. you got it, unless you understand PC's very well - WAIT WAIT WAIT - until this SW is more stable (6 month wait may be sufficient) and keep what you have.
For me - my next device to come (in some years) is going to be an APPLE. I finally have enough of MS and 3 OS's that are all but costing me endless time. I tested the free Ubuntu OS and it is totally equivalent to MS but it is for free, it takes less memory and is definitely faster than MS - only we need to get used to a slightly different look and feel - and if i would not need MS for some special SW i would not have even thought about using it (but i learned now that Apple runs MS too so if I would have known this apple would have been it right away.
Apart from all that W7 has the look and feel of Vista - not much difference - i don't understand all the fuzz about it - it is faster O.K. but that is really all.
So far, so good... ![]()
Not a bad upgrade at all. Installation (clean) took just over an hour on a Acer Ferrari 4000. The only drivers not picked up were for the card reader, a known problem. Ignoring the prettiness - and it can be made to be very pretty, the killer feature is the way you can open two windows and dragging one to the side makes them fit the screen equally. If you do as many dual window tasks as I do I reckon you'll save the cost of the software in a year. There are numerous other usability features that have been improved as well.
The whole feel is just so much more polished than Vista and I haven't had a bad experience running that, so all in all, pretty happy.
