Product Description
Microsoft Photoshop and Premiere Elements 8 (Windows)
above expectations ![]()
I have used simular software before but, and its a big but, this was way past what I expected from a reasonably priced product, it has more power than I will ever need. If your just starting out on the road to a profession with a camera and you need the computer software to start with you wont go wrong with this, even as an amateur like me the power it has to manipulate photo's will give you hour apon hour of pleasure.
Upgrading from PS4 to PS8 ![]()
My initial reactions are poor, the screen design being now fine white text on a black background may be very trendy, but is hard work on the eyes. There seems to be a desire to force you through startup menus as if you did not know what you wanted to do. The Workspace organiser does not seem to exploit any of the library features of Windows 7 and seems to run duplicate scans of the file system (but I may be wrong there).
Summary - it seems harder to use than previous versions for no apparent gain.
Confusing bundle ![]()
When you open the CD it invites you to install Premiere Elements or Photoshop Elements Trial. At first I thought that I had been conned and it really was not a bundle of both the products. However, if you go ahead and install the trial of Photoshop and then when invited just enter the serial number that is printed on the back of the CD box (why on the back?) then all is well.
Photoshop works reasonably well but after years of using proper Photoshop I think this dumbed-down version is disappointing - but at a very reasonable price.
Disappointment ![]()
This product appeared to be exactly what I was looking for and was purchased as a 'bundle'. I am bitterly disappointed with it. The two CD's provided are confusing and there are no detailed instructions provided - just an over view.
On loading the first of the disks I tried to use the editing programme and was informed that it hadn't been loaded. The second of the two disks rejected the code and I was advised to go to the menu and cancel the registration numbers. As the disk wouldn't load I felt this was rather ridiculous. I suspect that the fault lies within the software as the same problem occurs on two computers and I shall be returning the product to Amazon for a replacement of the return of my money.
I have been generally satisfied with Photoshop 6 and Elements 4 (although it wouldn't write to a DVD!) and am extremely frustrated.
