Blu-ray debut ![]()
With all the HD/non-HD content on Sky, we watch less and less on DVD so until now I always found it difficult to justify buying a blu-ray player. With the launch of the BD60, there has been a big price drop in the BD35 so I decided to take the plunge & hooked it up to a Pioneer plasma. The manual is a little intimidating, but getting it set up was incredibly easy - it literally took two minutes and then we were up and running with Jeff Beck at Ronnie Scotts. Quality of picture and sound is very impressive, and same goes for DVDs with the improvement in the sound particularly noticeable from what was a very old DVD player. All in all, very impressed and outstanding value for money.
Great little machine!!! ![]()
Firstly I would like to state that this is my third Blu ray player to date and is IMHO the best of the 3!!! I have done side by side comparisons with the PS3, Sony Bdp s350 and this panny, and the panny wins hands down in nearly all departments!!!
PQ on the Ps3 & sony player were virtually identical with a slight hazziness, where the panny just seemed to POP off the screen more in crystal clear clarity.
The Ps3 and sony were easier to set up however with simpler menu systems but that by no way makes the panny difficult to use!!!
The extras on the panny were also more exhaustive - divx, internal decoding (via HDMI), SD card slot and a fair number of tweaking options.
Load times are a lot quicker than the sony but still lack behind the ps3!!!
Also the remote on the sony was a tad slow to react but no problem with the panny!!!
DVD upscaling was also better with the panny, it just seemed to have less noise and jaggies!!!
All in all a great buy and if you were having doubts about what player to get, like I did, a what hifi 5* award for the panny should help :)
Ideal for the blu ray newbie ![]()
I bought this a couple of months back to compliment a panny tx37lzd85 screen and surround system. It certainly does the job - beautiful, crisp, vibrant images, easy to set up and a pretty decent upscaler too.
The only drawback - the build feels a bit cheap and not very robust.
Panasonic DMP BD35 Blooray Player ![]()
Bought this to go with a top of the range Panasonic 1080, with quite good results, Blooray Disks take quite a bit to load but the results are worth it.
One small point, why are the remote controls so different (even though the telly one does operate the Blooray Player.
